LexisNexis does sell a solo a priced Lexis+ plan, through an online store most pricing articles never open. Here is every plan on every term, what it comes to per year, and the fees you pay outside the plan.

LexisNexis costs a solo practitioner 114 to 432 dollars a month for a Lexis+ research plan. The LexisNexis online store sells four priced plans to firms of 1 to 3 attorneys: Essential (state case law) at 152 a month on a 1 year term or 114 on a 3 year term, Enhanced (adds federal) at 342 or 257, Professional (adds all 50 states, Law360 and CourtLink) at 432 or 324, and Deluxe Transactional at 289 or 217. A 2 year term takes 10 percent off and a 3 year term 25 percent. Lexis+ with Protégé, the AI plan, is priced on request. For one attorney that is 1,368 to 5,184 dollars a year, before any charges for material outside the plan. If the job is mostly finding the on-point case, focused US case law search runs 29 dollars a month. How we checked this. The store at store.lexisnexis.com answered our requests on 28 September 2026 with a bot challenge, and a page that does not exist on the same host answered with the identical challenge, so a live read was not possible. We read the store's own law firm page as captured by the Internet Archive on 5 September 2026. Its embedded price table covers every plan for 1, 2 and 3 attorneys on 1, 2 and 3 year terms, and it matches the April 2026 capture figure for figure. The fees outside the plan come from LexisNexis' Small Legal price schedule, which we read live on 28 September 2026. The yearly totals are our arithmetic. They are not a quote.

Prices are dollars per month for one attorney. The store preselects the 3 year term and shows the 1 year price struck through beside it, which is why the 114 dollar figure is the one that circulates. It is real, and it is the 3 year price.

Only 1 to 3 attorneys
The store's seat picker offers 1, 2 or 3 attorneys and says "for 3+ seats, contact us". A solo qualifies, which is why this is the one Lexis price you can read before a sales call.
New customers only
The page calls these "Online exclusive" promo prices for new customers. At renewal they stop being your price, so ask what year four costs before you pick the 3 year term.
Jurisdiction sets the contents
You choose a state first, and the store says the packages and content depend on it. Check that the state you picked is the one where you file most, because Essential covers only that state. The store's catalog also carries a jurisdiction discount, so your state's checkout total can come in below these figures.

The store shows a monthly figure. The number that decides a 3 year term is the total you owe whether or not the practice still needs Lexis in year three. Here it is for one attorney.

The discount is worth 456 a year
On Essential, three years instead of one saves 456 dollars a year. On Professional it saves 1,296. That is the price of giving up the right to leave after twelve months.
Federal costs 143 more a month
Enhanced minus Essential on a 3 year term is 143 dollars a month, about 1,716 a year. Pay it if you file in federal court more than occasionally.
Add the admin charge
LexisNexis' Small Legal price schedule lists 25 dollars a month for 1 to 5 attorney firms. The store tiles do not show it, so ask at checkout. If it applies, add 300 a year to every row.

Monthly price for the whole firm, from the same store table. The second seat is cheaper than the first: Essential on a 3 year term is 114 for one attorney and 185 for two, so the second lawyer adds 71 dollars a month.

The fees a solo pays outside the plan
A flat rate plan covers the material in your package. Everything else is billed per document at LexisNexis' published list prices, which is where a cheap plan can get expensive. The schedule has been in force since 5 December 2023 and LexisNexis can change it on 30 days' notice.
Two lines matter most to a solo on Essential. A federal case you open outside the plan is 24 dollars. A 50-state survey is 221. If you would open ten federal cases a month, Enhanced is cheaper than paying per document, and that is the honest way to choose between the two plans.
The AI lines are the other surprise. Lexis+ AI used outside a plan that includes it is 60 dollars per Ask and 95 per Summarize or Drafting request, which is why the AI plan is sold on request rather than a la carte. We cover what that plan contains on our Lexis+ AI with Protégé pricing page.

LexisNexis vs Westlaw cost for a solo practitioner
Lexis wins at the entry level
Lexis+ Essential for one state is 114 to 152 dollars a month. The cheapest published Westlaw plan, Westlaw Advantage for one federal circuit, starts at 256.75. If you practice in state court in one state, Lexis is the cheaper published way to get a real citator.
With federal law they converge
Lexis+ Enhanced is 257 to 342 a month; Westlaw single circuit starts at 256.75 on 1 year and falls about 18 percent on 3. Lexis Professional at 324 to 432 sits beside Westlaw all states at 399.75. Past the entry plan the decision is Shepard's against KeyCite, not price.
Both vendors discount multi-year terms, both limit the online price to new customers, and both bill extra for content outside the plan. A test before you sign: count the briefs, motions and memos you filed in the last three months that needed a Shepard's check. At two a month, Essential on a 1 year term costs about 76 dollars per filing. At twenty, under 8. The part no subscription covers
Whatever you buy, you still read the case
Shepard's is the reason most litigators pay for Lexis, and nothing we sell replaces it: Cases has no citator, and we say so on every page. What a citator does not change is who answers for the citation. Under ABA Formal Opinion 512, issued 29 July 2024, the duty to verify stays with the lawyer whichever tool found or drafted the authority.
For a solo that points to a practical split. Use a cheaper search tool to find and read the cases, and put the citator money where it earns its keep, which for many state court practices is Lexis+ Essential on a term you can walk away from.

Does LexisNexis have a solo practitioner plan?
Yes, in effect. The LexisNexis online store sells Lexis+ plans to firms of 1, 2 or 3 attorneys with prices on the page, and sends firms of more than three to sales. A solo picks one attorney, a jurisdiction and a 1, 2 or 3 year term, then chooses Essential, Enhanced, Professional or Deluxe Transactional.
Is Lexis+ AI included in the solo plans?
No. The store lists Lexis+ with Protégé as a separate plan with "Pricing on request". The priced plans are Lexis+ research without the generative AI assistant. If you use Lexis+ AI outside a plan that includes it, the Small Legal price schedule lists 60 dollars per Ask and 95 dollars per Summarize or Drafting request.
What are LexisNexis out of plan charges?
Out of plan charges are what LexisNexis bills when you open material your subscription does not cover. The Small Legal price schedule lists 24 dollars per case or statute, 15 dollars per Shepard's report, 100 dollars per brief or motion, 221 dollars per 50-state survey and a 60 dollar system access charge. Most Lexis screens warn before you open out of plan material.
Is LexisNexis cheaper than Westlaw for a solo?
At the entry level, yes. Lexis+ Essential is 114 to 152 dollars a month for one state, while Westlaw Advantage starts at 256.75 for one federal circuit. The plans are not like for like: Essential has no federal case law. Enhanced, which adds federal, costs 257 to 342 dollars a month, which is the same bracket as the Westlaw circuit plan.
Can existing Lexis customers get the store price?
The store labels its prices "Online exclusive: Special promo prices are for new customers only." Existing subscribers renew through their account executive. The published figures are still useful at renewal, because they tell you what a new solo pays for the same plan on the same term.
How long does it take to get access after buying Lexis online?
LexisNexis says access is provided once the order is processed and that processing can take up to 72 hours. An account executive contacts you after the purchase. Questions about early cancellation and transferring a license are sent to customer support rather than answered on the store page.
